Akila Richards is a poet and fiction writer. Her work is published in Covert Magazine,
Mosaic Writers, Penguin, Waterloo Press, Peepal Tree Press and on digital platforms. 
Her poetry pamphlet “Ritual for a Mango’ was edited and publishrd by Flipped Eye and launched on 2nd February 2024 at the International Black Speculative Writing Festival at Goldsmith University. 


Her recent work features in ‘We Hear You Now’ at South Downs Trust and Wasafiri’s ‘Windrush - Writing the Scandal’. 

Akila writes stories that speak to our humanness, of complex lives and deep joy of liberation.
