Yvonne Hercules - The Olive EP Tour
Written by Community Member Yvonne Hercules
Hello all, I’m Yvonne, I'm an alternative folk/soul songwriter/artist working on a concept EP that celebrates black femininity & its nuances - in part inspired by the work of activist Olive Morris & supported by Arts Council England. As part of the project there will be a tour and one of the dates of the tour is scheduled to be at Folklore Rooms, Brighton on the 9th June 2023.
I'm really keen to invite local minority female identifying/non-binary audiences who may resonate with the themes of the work. Tickets are now on sale through the link below and if you enter the discount code OLIVE09 you'll get 50% off. If you're on a low income/particularly struggling because of the cost of living crisis but would love to come then please let me know as I have a proportion of free tickets too! https://www.seetickets.com/tour/yvonne-hercules-the-folklore-rooms
As part of this, I'll also be doing a call-out for a support artist for each live performance date and I am particularly keen to invite female identifying minority artists. It would be great to hear from you if you are a local musician/artist and would potentially love to be involved with this. It will be a paid performance slot. There will also be a workshop that I will be organising based around poetry/songwriting which I will post on the group once I have more details. If you are a local venue who might be able to potentially help with hosting this then please do let me know! Looking forward to connecting with you all!
